The heat was hot and took the recovery out of my recovery ride. Rode a few with Lindsey G. Tomorrow, a roadie with Nathan G- Nashotah post office @ 8AM, any TdG bailers welcome. Double post? My connection moved out this week so i'm on the poach. Sorry, too spent to socialize tonight. I need a nap.

Did the 6 hour duo with Tbone. Thin field, lit up the start and after Polska pulled out less than 2 hours in T and i just hit it as a training ride doing 2 lap (40min) TT sessions. Fast rolling course that suited the Mr. Bigg perfectly. Once that sucker got goin' it didn't want to stop! Hayes brakes and Sun Rims also performed flawless as usual. T rocked steady all day as well despite riding one of those retro geared bikes. So it was a fun day netting my first, well, half-win on the new ride. Props to MTB Girl and the Pedal Moraine crew for organizing a first class event.

If you haven't heard by now, our good friend Jay Labecki severely injured his hand last night while closing a gate at the Kenosha Velodrome. He may be off the bike for now, but Jay's a tough SOB who i'm sure will be back racin' sooner than later. Still i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to drop by his site and leave some words of encouragement. Get well soon Jay!

Crystal Ridge: First race and some new faces. With Carlos Haeckel and Nathan G in attendance i knew it would be some good racin'. Got the holeshot off the start like usual. Heading into the field a Hayes rider took the lead and i sat on his wheel with Carlos chomping at the bit to get by. Once in the singletrack the dude started getting worked over and bouncing off of trees before laying it down in front of me, allowing Carlos to get by. I chased back up to Carlos which opened up a gap for us. The next 2 1/2 laps we traded pulls and played the attack counter-attack game. I was a little smoother through the singletrack but he had a little more on the climbs. On the last lap he attacked on the craters climb and opened up a slight gap. I packed it in for the finishing climb but wasn't quite close enough to make it up. So Carlos won, i got 2nd, Nathan G was a few seconds back in 3rd, James Lalonde pulled in 4th and Ironman Michael rounded out the top 5.

Yeah, its just local racin', but its good seeing everyone back at the ol' landfill again.

JW was pullin' 8 ft. high wall ride fakies off a pallet transition at work today. Should've had my camera. Major props to the Hayes guys for repairing my rear brake (from Iola, i put off), complete with new MC body/lever. I know what its like when people leave stuff until the last minute, I hate it! They happily obliged and for that i thank them. Be sure to check out their rig this weekend at Alpine. Tomorrow is a REI volunteer day at the Southern Kettles, 9am. Come out and help if you can, they usually have food after and ride. Goal is to get the connector loop completed and opened. I know, short notice so i'll see ya when i see ya.

Pull, pop, recover, repeat. The excess rest left me sluggish tonite. Atleast the tanlines got a work out.

Cancelled races, no internet, and Ford troubles. 3 hours in the rain is all i could muster this morning, of course now its drying up. Better go hit a 2nd round. Highlights this week included lunch at Burrito Bueno and chasing some of the Tosa crew around on their home trails. Really, thats all.

Race time! Lined up next to 'Goat to put a pair MM's together on the front row. Don says GOOOO!, Nathan G blows a chain in front of evereyone, first climb gets physical but sorts out quickly. Drop into the bowl and loose both watebottles, PHUCK! First lap, settle in and try not to pop. Second lap catch MarkO and ride with him. Third lap, lay it down in the ST and pop my R. brake lever out of socket allowing Mark to get by. Catch Mark after getting back in the groove of only having a front brake. Rode it out in nomans land with the Darkness at my back. Out of the pines & sprint to the finish. 7th place! Best finish to date, i'll take it!

Huge thanks to Jay & The Boy for having all the hand ups i needed, Russell(1st in comp clydes!) and the whole Hayes/Sun Rims team for their support, Mitchman for the solid bike and Tbone for the ride up.

All was well until i pulled off the front to fix a slipping seatpost. The pack seizing on the opportunity, lit it up. Sir Russell picked me up but with a mere 73in. mounted on the Freakshow it was relentless as we dangled just off the back for the remaining 8 miles. That along with the ride in with John, it was some good TTT efforts. For what, i don't know.
