WE SAW CARNAGE.

Picked Tbone up at 8a and headed to the trails. Another ambitous crew punched out a good section of connector which should be open by next week. As we were finishing up we caught Kevin, SS Amy, MTB Girl and Science Guy out doing some covert training, so gotta call 'em out. Afterwards Tbone and i hit up the trails for awhile with John H. T was rockin' the new singletrack, John could kill the decents with his 5" Rocky Mountain. I popped my chain off like 4 times, i think due to the cheap master link that comes with the Sram SS chains- it is now removed. All in all, a great day workin and ridin' with some friends. On the way home we came across this:

Some kid with his girlfriend looped his 'stang around a corner and into a tree. We stopped just as they were getting out of the car to see if they were ok. They seemed alright but the kid must've bumped his head as he didnt know what happened or where he was. A few other people stopped and soon after a cop rolled up and took care of the situation. The girls dad happened to drive by and stop too but he seemed half in the bag and made best to avoid dealing with the cop. With our business done there, it was time to clean up and head over to T's for pizza and NASCAR. Yes, NASCAR- and i guess blogging too seeing as there neighbors also have unsecured wifi and not multitasking something during a NASCAR race is a complete waste of time. Alright, that's enough for one day.

EXIT

That's it. I'm out. The last Ronsta built racing transmission was tagged for pickup today. After spending the better half of my life in the racing industry, i'll begin my full time comittment to the cycling world on Monday under the watchful instruction of the Shedmaster. Should be interesting. Tomorrow's another work day at the Kettles, Muir- 8:30a. If your around and have, time pitch in the couple hours, otherwise Jamison will thorn-whip ya! Later.

ROADIE TIME

Weak blogging? No crap. Good weather = good riding. Spring routine, get off work and ride till dark. Blah, blah, blah. Local group rides are in effect, some fast, some easy but no shortage of company. Breakfast of late has been oldschool rice & raisins with cinnamon and/or honey & milk mixed in. My mom made this when we were kids and i've recently rediscovered it, mmmm, mmmm good! Until something crazy happens... Out.

GROOVIN'

Finally got down to Kettles to pitch in some trail work. The crew down there has made huge progress so far this Spring with a few new sections opened. I'm sure with a little more help and a few more weeks we should have the entire connector loop completed. Got my ride on afterwards, first good mtb since returning to the homeland. The west was cool but it was nice carving through the pines again. The fresh, rough cut trail took a beating on my hands. Maybe i just need to get rollin on the Bigg wheel. Muir was a circus as usual, ran into Kenny, Randy, Torgler, Periso, Polska team and some Alterra dudes. Sh!t, i have to quit posting so late. Tomorrow its ride, ham & candy. Happy Easter.

HOME

Back to reality. Atleast the weather followed us home. To any hippies out there that want to bitch about "urban sprawl" or "overpopulation" i suggest you take the long drive through Nebraska and Iowa. Big thanks to Mitch and Sandy for their hospitality, Jeremey for the invite and Lori and Kevin for putting up with me all week. It's a trip i won't soon forget.

One more race to hit this year!

R & R

Rain & Rest. A lesson in desert climate volatility resulted in an abreviated day. Back in CO. Roadie tomorrow? Hopefully the snow is cleared. Did you know Glenwood Springs has heated roads? Today was Mitch's birthday, tomorrow is my Dads. Happy Birthday to both of them. Can't get enough? Here's Goats photos along with some of mine. I'll have more when there is more. Out.

MOAB

Porcupine Rim Trail
Rode to the top of Castle Valley then down 11 miles of wicked, gnarly, hellarocky, sick, hardcore downhill/4X4 trail to Slickrock to give the rest of the crew a taste of what they missed last night. After a few hours of pounding in the sun we headed up the 7 mile gravel road climb back to the car. Goat and i hammered on eachother the whole way up(actually i hung on for dear life). Another day of sunburn and bone jarring carnage in the books.

UTAH

AM: LaSal Mountain Loop (Road)
65 miles, 20+ climbing, 4500 vertical feet to 8500' elevation, 4+ hours

Craziest stuff i've ever ridden, 2-2.5 hours of solid relentless climbing. Mind bending false flats, you could swear you were going down hill but the resistance on the pedals and Mitch's altimeter showed the opposite. Rewards were the amazing views along the way and eventually the long but quick decent from the mountain back into the desert. Sick decents. 40+ into hairpin turns, grab the brakes and lean hard. Releasing the brakes is like pegging the throttle on a super bike, really frickin' cool.

PM: Slickrock
Slickrock is the mother F'n bomb! Don't let anyone tell you different! Mitch, Goat and i hit it for a couple hours before sunset, loved every minute of it!
