The weather's warming up and everyone's getting twitchy. One week from today will be the first edition of the Tuesday Night Gun Show, the full-on, fast-as-you-wanna-make-it, premier road ride out of beautiful downtown Waukesha. The route is here, learn it! Meet in the municipal lot on the corner of Main & Barstow (next to Ace Hardware) before 6pm, ride leaves at 6 sharp. Afterwards, hang around and hit up one of the fine eateries on Main St. Spring is coming, see you then!

Trail work went great yesterday! With a big crew, some low sections of the white loop were repaired and also an entirely new singletrack reroute of the orange climb was completed! The trails look like their on track to be opened on or shortly after April 1st. Be sure to call the trail hotline to be sure. If you feel like you missed out yesterday and have the time this afternoon, Metro is having a work day from 3-7pm on the Tosa trails. Plenty of good things going on out there as well, so help out if you have the chance!

It's already begun! Trail work at the Southern Kettles started last Saturday and is going on every Saturday through June 5th. With the weather getting better every week, try to make it a point to help out a bit with the trails you love. They've got a slick new website up now at, keeping you informed of the progress going on and making it easier than ever to get involved. Check it out and see you there tomorrow ;)

Not really. What the hell do I need a new road bike for? Its not like I road race. What do I need any new bike for, its not like I'm pro. Wait, nevermind. Doesn't matter, riding a steel bike for only one year is kind of against the point of having a steel bike. So as you can guess, I'll be on my bike I made last year again. The deal above is another issue of having cheap steel bikes lying around. Since the Surly didn't move at the swap this past winter, I take that as an omen that it needs to be ridden another season. After 4 years on the Bianchi that bike might get to rest til cross season, or I might sell it. Figures, I assemble a bike I can't put full fenders on on the wettest day of the year. It's not like I'm screwed, I have 3 other, old steel bikes outfitted for wet weather but I wanted to ride this one! Too many bikes pilin' up here. Why would I want anything new!
